Local elections are often overlooked, but they are one of the most important aspects of democracy. While national elections receive much more attention, local elections directly influence the daily lives of every citizen. Local government offices are responsible for making decisions that affect our communities, schools, roads, public safety, and the overall quality of life.
For those of Greek descent, obtaining your Greek Passport has been simplified to help you through the process online. Click here for details.

Established in 1974, the United Hellenic Voters of America (UHVA) is a non-partisan grass roots political organization serving the Greek-American community in the Chicago metropolitan area . The UHVA is dedicated to addressing issues that are vital to Greek-Americans by actively participating in political and community affairs and by establishing close relationships with our elected officials. Focusing primarily on local and state elections the UHVA provides the bridge between the community and local candidates who would otherwise be unknown to the voters. Local elections garner very little publicity marking these candidates as just a name on a ballot. The UHVA meets and interviews these candidates who wish to forge a relationship with the Greek-American community endorsing candidates they feel will benefit them. Learn more about the UHVA...
